1973 4WD F250 with a 12 valve Cummins Motor, NV 4500 5 speed transmission. Engine came with around 80,000 miles on it probably up to 100k by now. Truck runs great, in and around it tends to get in the high teens to low 20s on mileage, over the road I see low to mid 20's. The truck is sitting on 35" tires with 17" rims. This truck is an absolute tank. Combine a heavy duty 70's Ford with the power and reliability of a Cummins 12 valve and Its a great truck I really hate to sell it but the new baby makes four and we just don't fit. $11500 OBO I would also consider trade for four door diesel of equal value. If you have any questions or would like to see it please text or call me at [telephone number in listing] Serious inquiries only please.

I am amazed how many vehicles coming out of Montana with very little rust there seems to be.

There's a very easy explanation to that. Montana snow removal crews only use salt when plowing and gravel aren't enough, and that happens very rarely.

You do have to watch out for rock chips, but I prefer that over rust.

One of my friends is swapping a 12v 6bt into his 76 F250 high boy. It'll get done eventually

this is what it looked like when it was still a 360FE / 4spd

I've never actually seen one in person. Is there a kit or just a ton of metal work involved?

6bt swaps are really popular so theirs some stuff but as far as I know nobody sells a drop in kit, certainly not for the old dent side fords. I think he even made his own motor mounts. He has an adapter plate that fits a ford ZF5 to a 6bt. Thats not exactly an easy piece to find, they usually sell for decent money to.

On these older trucks I think it's a bit trickier.

On some of the newer trucks there are kits available (late 90's and up), but it will cost you a pretty penny to complete the swap.

Over the passes when they use that magnesium chloride though- instant rust.

Just as a note, in the diesel world, when a Cummins is swapped into a Ford it's known as a Fummins, not a Fordge.

I'm just saying. That's what I've always seen it and called it. But everyone has a different name for everything.
